The paddle through Pont d’Arc and down the Gorge de l’Ardeche has got to be amongst my favourite paddles – anywhere. It is the combination of enough whitewater, most of it very easy, along with spectacular rock scenery and, of course, the spectacular Pont d’Arc, where the river has carved a 60-metre rock arch through a limestone ridge.
