Alexander The Great, popularly known in India as 'Sikander' has been a much used icon in folktales in all Indian languages. Few popular Bollywood feature films have already been made and still being made on his life and narratives attached to him. I also discovered an amazing short story, written by one of the master story tellers in our time, Vijaydan Detha, telling about an unique anecdote related to 'Sikander' when he cake to India and fell fatally sick. To cure his disease, he meets an Indian Vaidya', the medicant and tries to become 'immortal' through his magical prescriptions. His ambition to become king of the world here turns into quest to attain a life without inevitable death. Remember, it's a fiction and has no relation with the history, where Alexander died in a quite young age around 323 BC in reality.
This short film was shot in just one day and night with very limited resources for Jaipur DD Kendra.
Hope, you would find it interesting.
