Dr Khairudin Aljunied, author of the book "Hamka and Islam - Cosmopolitan Reform in the Malay World", compares different methods in learning, from the past and present, seeking to deliberate on the shift in emphasis within pedagogical trends. Today, learning is measured and catered based on one’s age, whereas history depicts to us that learning was nuanced and catered through personalities and passion that is embedded within the human nature.
