This is a Motormouth couple car review of the 2024 Volkswagen Tiguan compact SUV. The 2024 Volkswagen Tiguan! We haven’t reviewed this model for quite some time, it’s nice to get it back, it’s a very popular choice in the Volkswagen lineup.
The 2024 Volkswagen Tiguan has a 2L turbocharged 4-cylinder with an 8-speed automatic transmission, 184 horsepower and 221 lb-ft of torque, standard AWD in Canada. In the US, FWD and AWD options are available. You can put regular fuel in the Tiguan.
The 2024 Volkswagen Tiguan SUV is quite unique because it has an optional small third row offering on every trim in Canada for $800 CAD. In the US, the third row is standard on FWD models, it is not available on AWD models.
The 2024 Volkswagen Tiguan is a spacious compact SUV and has a competitive price point in this class. In Canada, it starts at $37,220 CAD, Comfortline $41,220 CAD, Comfortline R-Line Black $44,520 CAD and Highline R-Line $48,220 CAD (our test model). Pricing includes, Freight, PDI and Fees.
In the US, (MSRP) S FWD/AWD $28,880 USD/$30,380 USD, SE FWD/AWD $31,580 USD/$33,080 USD, SE R-Line Black FWD/AWD $34,580 USD/$36,080 USD and
SEL R-Line AWD $38,880 USD.
The 2024 Volkswagen Tiguan fuel economy is8L/100 km, 29 MPG highway and 10.6L/100 km, 22 MPG city.
The 2024 Volkswagen Tiguan gets some good standard features but I feel the Comfortline or SE model offers the most value. It gets you those extra key features like a power tailgate, the larger 8” touchscreen with wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto, a wireless charger, a power driver’s seat and leatherette upholstery. I also like that you can add the panoramic sunroof to this trim for $1500 CAD/$1200 US.
The 2024 Volkswagen Tiguan base model comes standard with a 6.5” touchscreen, wired Apple Carplay and Android Auto, an 8” digital driver display, 6-speaker audio system, cloth upholstery, manual front seats with height adjustment, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, a manual liftgate and Volkswagen’s IQ.Drive. In Canada, you can add a package to the base trim to get the larger touchscreen. In the US, the heated steering wheel is only available on the top trim.
