You will be AMAZED at how fast and how perfectly your food processor can whip up a batch of made-from-scratch, homemade biscuits!

These homemade buttermilk biscuits are flakey, full of layers, SO soft, and addictively delicious. In today's video we'll be covering how to make them in your food processor, but don't worry. If you don't have one, I'll share an alternative method for making them. Buttermilk biscuits for all!

The food processor is one of my favorite kitchen tools, especially when it comes to making biscuit dough (and even pie dough)!

Instead of using a pastry blender to cut in the butter by hand, the blade of your food processor works quickly and efficiently to spread it quickly into the dough. Because the processor works at such a fast speed, the butter stays super cold and makes for the fluffiest, high-rise buttermilk biscuits!

If you have 10 minutes, you have time to make biscuits from scratch!

Here's what you'll need:
2 ¼ cup all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon granulated sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
½ teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon fine sea salt
¾ cup very cold, unsalted butter, cut into small cubes
¾ cup buttermilk

How to make homemade buttermilk biscuits in your food processor:
Preheat the oven to 450° and have ready a baking sheet lined with either parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.

In the bowl of a food processor fitted with a blade attachment, pulse together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. You could also use a large mixing bowl and a whisk.

Add the cubed butter and pulse a few more times to cut the butter into the flour mixture until it resembles small broken-up peas. You could also use a pastry blender for this task if you don't have a food processor.

Stream in the buttermilk through the feed tube with the food processor running and then pulse until a dough forms. You could also stir the dough together with a wooden spoon and very gently knead the dough, just until it comes together in a ball.

Transfer to a lightly floured work surface and pat it into a rectangle.

Fold the sides of the dough over and onto itself, just as if you were folding a piece of paper to place in an envelope. Pat out into a rectangle once more and cut into 6-8 biscuits.

Place on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 10-13 minutes, just until the tops are golden. Serve and enjoy.
