بلاد الشام دمشق. في سماء بلاد الشام عام 1914 سمع صوت غريب وشاهد الناس طائر حديدي يدور في السماء زهاء نصف ساعةمن الزمن ثم هبط على الأرض .كان ذلك اول طائرة تطير فوق سماء بلاد الشام متجهة من استانبول الى القاهرة .طائرة عثمانية اسمها (معاونت ملييه ) اي الدعم الوطني او نصرة الدين ..لكن للأسف سقطت بالقرب من بحيرة طبريا . ارسل العثمانيون طائرة ثانية لكن للأسف سقطت بالقرب من يافا ..اما الطائرة الثالة فقد وصلت الى القاهرة قاطعة مسافة(2515) كم

In the skies of Bilad al-Sham (Syria, Lebanon, Palestine, and Jordan) in 1914, people heard a strange noise and witnessed an iron bird flying in the sky for almost half an hour before landing on the ground. That was the first airplane to fly over Bilad al-Sham, traveling from Istanbul to Cairo. It was an Ottoman plane named "Muavent-i Milliye" which means "National Support" or "Religious Victory." Unfortunately, the plane crashed near Lake Tiberias. The Ottomans sent another plane, but it also crashed near Jaffa. The third plane finally arrived in Cairo after covering a distance of 2515 km. The Ottoman pilots were buried in the courtyard of Salah al-Din al-Ayyubi's shrine.
