Dian Nissen - - WAS 2024 Legend (Trampoline/Tumbling)

Growing up in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and the daughter of George Nissen (WAS 2001 T&T Legend), Nissen’s involvement with competitive trampoline began at an early age. At 11 years old, she won the 1972 Nissen-Eterna Cup, and again in 1974 and ’75. At the 1974-1978 World Age Group Games, she won first place in individual trampoline and dominated the top tiers in double mini-tramp and synchro. In Tulsa, Oklahoma, Nissen placed fourth at the 1976 World Trampoline Championships. During these years, she also performed in hundreds of exhibitions helping her father, George Nissen, promote his invention of the trampoline worldwide.

Receiving a double MS in Health Education and Exercise Science from the University of Iowa, Nissen produced a series of popular fitness videos focusing on senior fitness and Pilates. She co-authored a risk management and operations book aimed at improving core safety practices, supervision, and enforcement in trampoline parks. Nissen is an active Board Member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Gymnastics Clubs, and the World Acrobatics Society, and continues to be an advocate for trampoline safety. She founded and coaches at the Nissen Trampoline Academy, and lives in Arizona with her husband Rick Ramrez, and their five dogs.
