Harrenhal is cursed, or so we keep hearing about in House of the Dragon. When Harwin and Lyonel Strong burned alive in their own castle, the culprit Larys Strong relied on the Curse to cover up his crime. Bad things just always seem to happen to anyone who holds the derelict fortress of Harren the Black. Rhaenyra initially blames the fire that killed her pseudoo-husband Harwin the Himbo on the curse, with Daemon quipping back that it is just a ghost story. However I’m here to tell you that it is not just a ghost story, Harrenhal really is cursed and dooms anyone who holds the title. And not just one curse, there’s multiple curses as befits the largest castle anyone has ever seen. It is the most cursed of any castle that was ever cursed.
