The late Fred Palmer (1928 - 2015) takes us on a history tour of Herne Bay, Kent. Starting in 1997, footage cuts to 1988 and finally 1986. He has an impressive recollection of former businesses in the town, and you may learn something new!


Sourced from a VHS archive by Fred Palmer of Herne Bay, Kent. Fred made this VHS tape available to the public via an art gallery in the high street at quite a considerable cost for a highly amateur production. I purchased this tape from the gallery in 1997 and first recovered the footage from it for digital archive in 2009 and again in 2014. I have previously made contact with Fred's family prior to his passing but did not receive a response. If you are reading this please contact me if you would like the clips removed and/or a digital copy of the tape.
