Welsh and Breton are both Celtic Languages of the Brythonic branch of this language family of the wider Indo-European Language family. Breton has over centuries been influenced by French, and Welsh by English, so how close are these two languages today? In this video we look at Breton which has been added to Google Translate, by analysing sentences from with a Welsh perspective - what words are similar to Welsh? What words have cognates and which words are from French rather than a Celtic root?
