Figure Skating in the 1990s and 2000s was long hailed as the sport where bad sportsmanship prevailed thanks to..none other than the Tonya Harding vs Nancy Kerrigan Incident in 1994. The drama between these duos would continue to shape what outsiders think of Figure Skating as a sport - The showbiz, whack someone's knee from the back etc, especially after the Movie "I, Tonya" blew up in the big screen in 2018 (Not saying I, Tonya isn't good or Kerrigan/Harding who's good or bad. It's just.. Drama!). Even the Netflix Figure Skating Show - Spinning Out (Which got cut eventually) couldn't stop replaying this drama and portraying figure skating as a dramatised show of girls' fight instead of the real athletes' challenge on pushing the human limit. It's like a slap on the face of millions of figure skaters out there who are focusing on improving their technical abilities and pushing limits.

What outsiders didn't know is that this sport has long evolved and changed thanks to the current generation of figure skaters we have. Yes we are talking about Yuzuru Hanyu, Javier Fernandez, Evgenia Medvedeva, Nathan Chen, Shoma Uno and the likes who are competitive on ice but super respectful to their rivals off the ice. They focus on improving their own technical abilities and they are challenging the human body limit by attempting multiple quads and even quintuple jumps!

This is our special documentary to showcase all the best and worst moments of sportsmanship in figure skating and how the current generation of figure skaters are changing this sport!
