Prevention is better than cure. If we mix 200 grams of salt in our pond two to three times a month, mix it well with water and sprinkle it in the pond. Then we can easily get rid of various problems in the pond.
Salt work in fish farming ponds: -
1) Reduces the acidity of water.
2) Effective in ammonia toxicity.
3) Provides "electrolyte" to the fish body under environmental pressure and helps the fish to live a fresh and normal life.
4) Helps to relieve water irritation.
5) Helps in digestion of fish food.
6) Who keeps the blood pressure of the fish normal.
7) Relieves and prevents wound rage, fin fist rage, fulka rage, stomach swelling rage etc.
8) Kills other parasites including lice and inhibits their reproduction.
9) Inhibits the growth of fungi and bacteria.
10) Increases the rate of hatching of fish eggs.
11) Increases the effectiveness of fertilizers and lime.
12) Increases the shelf life of fish. 13) Increases the ability of fish to take stress. As a result it can be transported over long distances.
14) Keeps the body of the fish clean.
15) Adding 0.5 ppt salt to the hatching jar increases the survival rate of the fish.

প্রিভেনশন ইজ বেটার দেন কিউর অর্থাৎ প্রতিকারের চেয়ে প্রতিরোধ ভালো ।যদি আমরা আমাদের পুকুর গুলিতে মাসে দুই থেকে তিনবার লবণ শতকে 200 গ্রাম করে ভালো করে জলে মিশিয়ে পুকুরে ছিটিয়ে দিই । তাহলে কিন্তু আমরা পুকুরের বিভিন্ন ধরনের সমস্যার সম্মুখীন হওয়ার থেকে খুব সহজেই রেহাই পেতে পারি।
মাছ চাষে পুকুরে লবনের কাজ : -
1 ) জলের অম্লভাব কমিয়ে ফেলে ।
2 ) অ্যামােনিয়া জনিত বিষাক্ততায় অতি দ্রুত কার্যকর ।
3 ) পরিবেশগত চাপে মাছের দেহে " ইলেক্ট্রোলাইট " সরবরাহ করে মাছকে সতেজ ও স্বাভাবিক জীবন যাপনে সহায়তা করে ।
4 ) জলের ঘােলাত্ব দূর করতে সহায়তা করে ।
5 ) মাছের খাদ্য হজমে সাহায্য করে ।
6) মাছের দেহের রক্তচাপ কে স্বাভাবিক রাখে ।
7 ) ক্ষত রােগ , পাখনা পঁচা রােগ , ফুলকা রােগ , পেট ফোলা রােগ ইত্যাদি প্রতিকার ও প্রতিরােধ করে ।
8) উকুনসহ অন্যান্য পরজীবীদের মেরে ফেলে এবং তাদের বংশ বৃদ্ধিতে বাঁধা দেয় ।
9 ) ফাংগাস ও ব্যাকটেরিয়ার বৃদ্ধিতে বাঁধা দেয় ।
10 ) মাছের ডিম ফুটানাের হার বৃদ্ধি পায় ।
11 ) সার ও চুনের কার্যকারিতা বাড়ায় ।
12 ) মাছের সেল্ফ লাইফ ( Shelf Life ) বাড়ায় ।
13) মাছের স্ট্রেস নেয়ার ক্ষমতা বাড়ে । ফলে বেশি দূরত্ব পর্যন্ত পরিবহন করা যায় ।
14 ) মাছের দেহ পরিষ্কার রাখে ।
15) Hatching jar এ ০.৫ ppt লবণ যুক্ত করলে মাছের রেনুর survival rate বেড়ে যায় ।
