The Peugeot Rifter is a versatile MPV that offers practicality and a comfortable driving experience, especially with the BlueHDi diesel engine. Our preferred choice is the 128bhp BlueHDi diesel engine, which provides 300Nm of torque, handling the vehicle's bulk effortlessly and delivering an easy driving experience. This engine outperforms the petrol options, particularly the 109bhp PureTech engine, which struggles under heavier loads. However, if you prefer petrol, the 128bhp PureTech engine paired with the smooth eight-speed automatic gearbox is a better bet.

The Rifter also offers lower-powered and lower-emitting options in the BlueHDi lineup with 99bhp and 75bhp engines, making it possible to reduce running costs. The 1.2-litre PureTech petrol engines, available in 109bhp or 128bhp, are economical, ensuring that all Rifter models remain budget-friendly at the pump.

Currently, the Rifter lineup lacks dedicated green technology, although an electric version is expected in the future. Other running costs, including spares, repairs, and maintenance, are projected to be low, appealing to commercial operators accustomed to the Partner van. The sliding rear side doors, standard across all Rifter models, are a practical feature, particularly appreciated by families.

Inside, the Rifter mirrors the Partner van with the i-Cockpit instrument pack placed high on the dash, requiring drivers to look over the steering wheel to see it. While opinions vary on this setup, it works well in the Rifter due to the upright driving position and tall facia, enhancing visibility.

The short-wheelbase Rifter measures 4,403mm in length, while the long version extends to 4,753mm, with the extra length entirely behind the third row of seats, providing phenomenal boot space. Both models are 1,848mm wide and 1,849mm high and come equipped with roof rails.

The Rifter offers various seating configurations, with the rear seats available in a 60:40 split or as three individual seats featuring the Magic Flat system, which can be folded flat to the floor. The third row comprises two individually removable seats, adding to the vehicle's flexibility.

In summary, the new Peugeot Rifter is a robust, practical MPV with a range of economical engines and versatile seating configurations. It caters well to both families and commercial operators, offering a comfortable and adaptable driving experience.
