Car interiors can include a range of materials from basic cloths and fabrics to different types of leather and vinyl. Within the past 5 years auto manufacturers have been using more and more composite materials that are a "leatherette" with a coined name independent to each manufacturer. BMW for example uses SensaTec while Mercedes uses MB-Tex. When we are talking about premium brands like Mercedes and BMW, these manufacturers will often times uses a "leatherette" in place of real leather on their entry level vehicles to save on costs while still providing a premium feel for the interior.
