There aren't that many Compact hatchbacks in North America, from the potent Mazda 3 to the practical Honda Civic to the robust Volkswagen Golf, there isn't a huge list to choose from. While the list is small, they all have something that makes them stand out.

Toyota renamed the Scion iM to the Corolla hatchback back in 2018 and sales have been doing well. It seems that plenty loves the edgy styling of the new Corolla and being a hatchback it adds a bit more practicality to this little platform.

This particular example is the 2021 Corolla Special edition, the Special edition takes the middle trim then adds on sportier styling bits like a full body kit and that high mount rear wing. While it doesn't have any mechanical changes it's not as sporty to drive as it's looks suggest.
