The song is about the story of Marvi. The story of Umar Marvi is that Marvi was a young Thari girl abducted by then-ruler of Amarkot, Umar, who wanted to marry her because of her beauty. Upon her refusal she was imprisoned in the historic Umerkot Fort for several years. Because of her courage, Marvi is regarded as a symbol of love for one’s soil and homeland. The poetry mentioned describes after Umer (the ruler), who got inspired from her love of her home land, and her refusal to get marry, despite her being so poor, and him offering her all luxuries of life. He namd her his sister. the poetry now depicting about her fears,that now as she is getting back to her family and tribe, will they be accepting her ? and trust her to be pious ?
