🎶In them old cotton fields back home...
(Here in North Carolina in mid-October, the bolls are just about ready for harvest. Driving the backroads and seeing the fields of cotton made me think of this old blues classic.)
My one verse/chorus instrumental (lyrics below) of a well known folk song written by American blues musician, Huddie Ledbetter, better known as Lead Belly, who made the first recording of the song in 1940.

[Verse ]
When I was a little biddy baby
My mother would rock me in the cradle
In them old cotton fields back home
When I was a little biddy baby
My mother would rock me in the cradle
In them old cotton fields back home

[Chorus]
Oh, when them cotton bolls got rotten
You can't pick very much cotton
In them old cotton fields back home
It was down in Louisiana
Just about mile from Texarkana
In them old cotton fields back home
