All aboard for a journey on Heber Valley Railroad's Engine 618, a 100-ton 1907 steam locomotive built by Baldwin Locomotive Works for the Oregon Shortline Railroad. You'll learn the history of this behemoth and how it ended up leading trains on a tourist railroad after facing almost certain death in a city park in 1970. This video was shot in standard definition (BetaSP) and finished in 2001. Original music by The Next Band, headed by Ridge Gilmour. Narrated by Courtney Wrathall. This video features interviews with a historian and several engineers, plus a driving lesson in the cab. Rail fans will love the inside look at this piece of railroad history. Engine 618 is truly History in Motion. Produced by Kim & Steve Holmes/Main Frame Digital.
