200 Jahre Kölner Karneval - wenn das kein Grund zum Feiern ist! Genau das tun wir hier in der ersten Internationalen Herrensitzung der Komponisten. Meine Gäste: John Williams, Bob Marley und Ludwig van Beethoven... Die Challenge für jeden der Drei: Eine Komposition zu schreiben nach einem der ältesten und schönsten Karnevalslieder von Willi Ostermann: "Heimweh noh Kölle". Wie unterschiedlich das jeweilige Werk ausfällt, kannst Du in diesem - selbstverständlich nicht ganz ernst gemeinten - Video bestaunen.

Hi there, English speaking friends of my channel! From today until next Wednesday, the Rhineland will be in a state of emergency as it celebrates Carnival! The challenge for each of the three: to write a composition based on one of the oldest and most beautiful carnival songs by Willi Ostermann: "Heimweh noh Kölle" - also known as "Ich mööch zo Foß no Kölle gon". You can marvel at how different the respective works turn out in this - admittedly not entirely serious - video.

In this video, I'll be delving into this festive occasion in both German and the German dialect "Kölsch" (which also happens to be a delicious beer from Cologne). Keep an eye out for English subtitles.
