Based in Geneva, its primary focus is on exploring fundamental questions in physics, particularly particle physics. As such CERN is a key player in advancing our understanding of the universe through cutting-edge research in physics and technological innovation.Founded in 1954 it employs about 2500 people of all nationalities.
