"The Lost Battalion" is a World War I drama directed by Burton King starring Jack McLean, Gaston Glass, Marion Coakley, as well as officers and soldiers who took part in the actual events, including Major General Robert Alexander, Major George G. McMurtry, Lt. Col. Charles W. Whittlesey, Capt. William J. Cullen, Lieutenant Arthur F. McKeogh, Lieut. Augustus Kaiser and many others.

An army unit advances in enemy territory in 1918 and is surrounded in the Argonne Forest.
