Gen V is a super show.


The first two seasons of The Boys were a masterclass in parody writing. They expertly subverted the common tropes of the super hero genre and created a compelling world of their own as they delivered thought provoking commentary. Season 3 was a bit of a step down in my opinion and unfortunately, I think future seasons will feel like a watered down version of what we have come to expect from the series. With the success of its spinoff Gen V, it seems like the Boys is becoming less interested in satirizing the genre and more interested in playing it straight. Its still going to be gross though so that's nice.
