The small Swiss lake Blausee is one of the most romantic and picturesque places in this Alpine country. Locals call it the bluest of all the blue lakes in Switzerland. The secret of the amazingly piercing emerald blue color is the underground springs that feed the lake with crystal water all year round.

Lake Blau was formed 15 thousand years ago as a result of a landslide. Huge boulders in the lake and in the park itself were brought by an ancient glacier.
