This battle gave me roaming Zapdos flashbacks! If you know, you know! 😂


First off, Dusclops knows Curse and Will-O-Wisp. This combination of moves will do lots of passive damage to an unprepared Pokémon and additionally risk the shiny fainting if it had used Curse on a second Pokémon. This hunt is dangerous!

Also, the wild Staravia in this area know Whirlwind! Taunt is strongly recommended!

I came up with a very silly plan.

So my Lv. 39 Purugly had Taunt and Assist and was holding Leftovers. Naturally fast enough to flee from everything here.

I was leading with a fainted No Guard ability Machop, which only knew Foresight.

No Guard and Arena Trap abilities both have the same out of battle effect as Illuminate when they're at the front of the party. This helped the repel trick give more frequent encounters. I always use the White Flute.

I also had a Smeargle, which only knew Super Fang and Spore.

That's all. At first glance, this party doesn't really look like much, but I was majorly prepared!

Also, the Purugly was EV trained to be as tanky as possible and this repel trick makes Dusclops appear 50% of the time. Night time only.
