Playwright, journalist, and comedian Andrew Doyle explains how extreme views on gender identity and related medical procedures have become mainstream, even dominant, in our public discourse. Organizations like Stonewall and WPATH promote unscientific stances on transgender issues while refusing to engage in meaningful debate. As has become the norm across a wide range of political issues, any pushback is smeared as fascist, without even beginning to address the actual argument. Andrew also highlights the role of “idea laundering” in academia, where fringe theories are legitimized through self-referential journals that dress up activist narratives in the trappings of scientific research methods and technical jargon.
