Growing up in the early-mid 90s, prior to DJ’ing, Hip Hop captured my attention. I was fascinated by the music of New York-based artists like A Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul, Digable Planets, Wu-Tang, Mobb Deep, Rakim, Nas, and Biggie. I bought countless CD’s and cassette tapes which evolved to vinyl when I began spinning in 1998.

A distinct sound within the genre is Boom Bap, which focuses on heavy drums and creative sampling of eclectic records. Key producers of this style include DJ Premier, Pete Rock, GZA, Q-Tip, Large Professor, DITC, & Beatminerz. The MPC and SP-1200 were studio pieces commonly used to make these beats.

Here, I mix multiple Hip Hop instrumentals on vinyl including:
Just To Get A Rep - Gang Starr (1991)
360 - Grand Puba (1992)
Platinum Plus - Big L (1998)
Mad Scientist - Large Professor (1996)
Ice Cream - Raekwon (1995)
The MC - KRS-1 (1997)
Recognize - The Lox (2000)
Find A Way - A Tribe Called Quest (1998)
