This is a time lapse video from the rooftop of our condominium on Sanibel Island. It was shot a day before (and day of) Hurricane Ian's arrival to the island. The camera failed just before the storm surged reached its maximum destruction yet you can still see the enormous power and scope of the storm. This was a once-in-500 year weather event. If humanity does not collectively address climate change, we will continue to see extreme and devastating weather events like this one play out across the planet.
