On on April 25, 2023, LDS Church Historian Kyle S. McKay gave a Brigham Young University - Idaho devotional address entitled “A Sure and Certain Foundation” at the BYU-Idaho Center. The central controversy was his statement that "having perplexing questions that arise from reasons to doubt is not a problem, but please understand, finding answers to these perplexing questions ultimately is not the solution".
