In May Dan and I stayed in a country cottage in Sawley, a few miles from Ripon and after several days' worth of cakes, the delights of Betty's Tea Rooms, ales and a variety of good Yorkshire grub, we thought wouldn't it be fun to get back to health and fitness and walk long, winding country lanes up to the Fountains Abbey estate, spend a WHOLE DAY walking around that and then walk all the way back to our cottage! We even saw cattle in a field along the lane though fortunately it was their milking time and neither of us were wearing red so the bull(s) left us alone! After many miles, our feet were tired that evening and much Yorkshire tea was drunk!
