The final combat that Ta-152 participated in took place on the Eastern Front against Soviet fighters. In late April 1945, the 'Front' was now reaching outskirts of Berlin. JG.301 was sending as many aircraft as it possibly could against the Red Army and Ta-152s were escorting other fighters in their ground attacks. The first battle went relatively well and Josef 'Jupp' Keil added some victories to his tally, becoming the top Ta-152 pilot. Willi Reschke also confronted the Soviet fighters but also witnesses a mysterious demise of his flight leader.
