The AI Risk Management Framework (AI RMF) from NIST is a centerpiece of current AI policy in the United States. In this Distinguished Lecturer Seminar, Jeanna Matthews provides a detailed overview of the framework and the process by which it was developed and discusses some implications of its voluntary/non-regulatory nature and the ways it is being used going forward. She shares some of her experiences as a Faculty Fellow at #NIST working in the small team responsible for the framework and comments on directions for #AI risk management policy more broadly.
