Hi guys!

This is probably the most personal song I have ever written. It's very close to my heart because I guess you could say it summarizes my life story in 3 minutes. It's called I Still Write Songs in Secret.

It is a song I wrote in my last year of law school, when I was thinking about what I should do next. Ever since I was a little kid, I dreamed of pursuing music as more than just a hobby. But growing up in a conservative Asian society, I was told to become a Doctor or Lawyer (or failure lol). So I kept it a secret and told myself, "Maybe it's just a phase and I'll eventually grow out of it".

So I kept my head down and studied hard and went to Law school. After doing a ton of internships, I realized I didn't enjoy being a Lawyer. I asked myself, "What would I do if I could do anything in the whole world?" And that was when I realized that little voice inside me was still there. It didn't fade away, and it isn't phase, it's part of me!

I decided for once in my life to follow that little voice inside and see where it leads me. I am now at NYU doing a Masters in Songwriting and I wouldn't have it any other way.
