A workshop dedicated to addressing the sensitive yet critical issues of suicide, mental health stigma, and solutions within the Black community. Through open dialogue participants from different generations will come together to break down the barriers of silence and stigma surrounding Black mental health. Attendees will explore the historical context of mental health stigma in the Black community, its impact across generations, and the resilience that has sustained the community through adversity. Participants will learn about strategies to identify solutions to promote mental wellness and support those in need. By fostering understanding, empathy, and action, this workshop aims to empower individuals, families, and communities to create a brighter, stigma-free future for generations to come. Counselors, educators and healthcare staff will also understand the cultural differences to help their clients navigate these issues successfully.
