President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. leads the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Change of Command and Retirement Ceremony in honor of General Andres Centino, Philippine Army (PA), at Camp Aguinaldo in Quezon City on July 21, 2023.

The Commander-in-Chief bestows the Presidential Legion of Honor Award and presents the Command Plaque, Plaque of Honorable Service, Framed Medals, Pagpupugay sa Kawal Pilipino Plaque, Plaque of Appreciation and an encased Philippine Flag to the outgoing AFP Chief of Staff.

General Centino will be appointed as Presidential Adviser on the West Philippine Sea.

Taking the helm of the Armed Forces is Lieutenant General Romeo Brawner Jr. who is currently Commanding General of the Philippine Army. He has been serving the AFP in various capacities for more than three (3) decades.

The incoming AFP Chief of Staff graduated number two (2) in the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) ‘Makatao’ Class of 1989.
