In this video we fire up the steamer for some impromptu skin boat science! I compare the bendability of Quercus Alba with Quercus Garryana, in 9/32" thick ribs steamed at 4, 6, and 8 minutes. Ultimately all 3 times bent pretty well and certainly well enough to build any of my kayaks or canoes.
