How to make drum brakes soft and grippy When servicing the automatic rear brake, use the following basic techniques

1 Check the condition of the brake cable, lubricate it or replace it if it needs to be replaced
2. Lubricate the lever axle with grease.
3. Change the lining when it is time to replace it. One thing that is often overlooked when servicing or repairing drum brakes is cleaning and lubricating the lever axle of the brake lining. If this axle drags and jams, it will make the brakes hard and won't return properly to pump the brakes. This condition will result in hot drums, less grip on the brakes and the brake handle feeling hard. Hopefully it's useful 🙏
