The 2024 Nissan Patrol is entering a new era. That might be a funny to say about a 4WD wagon that's more than a decade old, but the Y62 series has just levelled up with the release of its new adventure-focused flagship, the aptly named Warrior.
Of course, the Warrior nameplate is a now-familiar one for Nissan Australia, which has already partnered with local engineering firm Premcar on three Warrior versions of the Navara dual-cab ute. But now it's the Patrol upper-large SUV's turn.
In this expert review, CarsGuide Contributing Journalist Byron Mathioudakis puts the new Patrol Warrior through its paces on- and off-road to find out if Premcar's upgrades to the Y62 are enough to lift it further into legendary status. After all, it had better be good if it's to really put the frighteners on the much newer Toyota LandCruiser 300 Series GR Sport.
