The Fire Department is requesting voter approval in the November election for $1 million to replace an aging pumper truck. The new truck, also commonly referred to as a fire engine, would replace a 20-year old truck and is scheduled as part of the department's Apparatus Replacement Plan. As the current vehicle ages, it becomes more expensive to maintain and to purchase a new one. A new truck would also improve operational safety for the crew and improved maneuverability due to an updated design.
