#EURO2024: Today’s #CoffeeWithGuillem ⚽️☕️ is the preview of Germany vs Spain ft. Raphael Honigstein and Duncan Castles' podcast ‪@transferspodcast‬. Few things that might interest you about the game:

🇩🇪 🆚 🇪🇸 Stability and variation (Spain) vs Impetus and Impreditabiltiy (Germany). I stole the headline from Phillip Lahm.

1️⃣ We haven’t been beaten in an international tournament by Germany… since 1988!

2️⃣ They are the two best sides of #Euro2024 and they have similar principles -build from the back, quick transitions, able to keep the ball, high aggressive pressure, they give everything to win the game during 90 minutes, intense, vibrant sides, with the highest technical quality and high physical level

3️⃣ Spain’s pressure high is crucial. Nobody has so many actions of pressure high in the rival half than Spain, nobody has the defensive line as high as Spain. You hope Spain learnt from the Georgia counterattacks, but in any case nobody does more tactical faults than Spain (necessary to stop quick transitions, and Germany are great at it). As a consequence, after recovering possession, Spain attacks quicker than the average team in the Euros. And we created more chances than the rest of teams

4️⃣ Germany could suffer in the wings, their full backs not the best defenders, will need help vs Spain’s wingers and full backs in attacking moves. If Germany wants to stop us moving the ball inside, we can use the pace and quality outside. And viceversa. Spain is a nation with a lot of layers

5️⃣ Substitutes will be key, Dani Olmo (if he doesn’t start as false nine for Morata), Ferran Torres, Oyarzaban, Wirtz, Fullkrug…

6️⃣ It could be Toni Kroos last professional game 😞 Spain have prepared to make his pass (specially the first one) a not very dangerous one

7️⃣ But this game will be decided, I feel, by little details. A fault in the wrong place, a bad marking, a set piece.

I just cannot wait. If it goes Spain's way, we could be talking about the confirmation of a generation with extraordinary talent that unexpectedly matured and clicked this summer. If we go home, the foundations are there to compete at the highest level in the next decade.
