Dr. Jordan Rogers continues preaching verse-by-verse through The Gospel of John in this sermon from John 12:27-36 entitled, “Four Purposes Christ’s Passion.”

John’s purpose in John 12:27-36 is to record the declarations Jesus made regarding His soul being troubled in as the time of His death approached. Rather than pleading with the Father to remove Him from the hour of suffering, Jesus declared four purposes for His suffering: the glorification of the Father, the judgment of the world, the overthrow of Satan, and the securing of His inheritance of all things. In response to these great purposes of Christ’s Passion, there is an urgent call to respond: believe in Christ while the light is still available.

The following is a sermon on John 12:27-36, and below you will find the video recording and a sermon outline to help you follow along as you watch. I hope this study tool helps you grow in your love for the Lord Jesus and in your obedience to Him.
