My most challenging Drum Cover yet, channeling the spirit of Gene Krupa with Benny Goodmans's Sing Sing Sing. This is a warts and all recording, the original has a lot of tempo variations which are not easy to follow. I've faded out the ending, because to be honest, I mucked it up :-)

If you’re a fan of drumming, you’re in for a treat! My videos showcase me playing some of your favorite songs, and I demonstrate how sound engineering, stage lighting, photography, and cinematography can be applied to a drum cover. I am a British self taught drummer and i've been playing for most of my life, but I am always still learning!

For the gear nerds, I use either a PDP Concept Maple Special Edition or a DW Performance Series Bop Kit, Ludwig Black Beauty snare, and a range of cymbals including Zildjian K Custom Dark, Zildjian K Constantinople, Zildjian K Kerope, Zildjian A Custom, and Meinl Byzance. I use Evans UV1 heads and Vic Firth 7A drumsticks.

For mics, I use the AKG D112 for the kick, Shure SM57 for the snare top and bottom, Sennheiser E604 for the toms, Rode NT5 matched pair for the overheads, Studio Projects C3 x 2 for the stereo room, and Rode M5 for the hi-hat.

I use the Soundcraft UI24R interface and Logic Pro X DAW with iZotope Plugins. I mix through a pair of Adam A7X monitors with Adam Sub 10, in an acoustically treated room.

For cameras, I use the Canon 70D, GoPro Hero9 x 3, and GoPro Hero10. I edit my videos using Final Cut Pro X.

To create the perfect lighting, I use Lightkey DMX control software, ADJ Mega Hex Par x 6, ADJ Mini Dekker, Prolight Spectrapix Batten x 2, NANLITE Pavotoube T8-7X, and DMX controlled LED strips.
