What do you say to your friend whose son was recently killed in a horrific accident? Or when a woman you know has struggled with fertility issues, gets pregnant, and then suffers a miscarriage? Interacting with those who are experiencing tragedy can be uncomfortable, simply because we just don’t know what to say. In this heart-warming talk, Andrea Vecchio offers insight into the power of human connection through having uncomfortable conversations. Andrea Vecchio is an interviewer, storyteller, and writer. During her 15 years in broadcast television, she became an Emmy-Nominated journalist and member of the Broadcast Film Critic’s Association. Vecchio went on to publish and author her first book, Live Your Playlist. She is the co-creator and host of the digital series, Driving Cleveland. Vecchio recently launched her podcast, “The Bounce Back,” which is a collection of conversations with inspirational people and the greatest life lessons they’ve learned through their biggest failures and setbacks. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
