Muzaffarpur, one of the 40 loksabha seats of Bihar, was once a stronghold of Congress. That is once upon a time scenario. Ajay Nishad from BJP is the incumbent MP from this seat. In the ongoing General Elections 2019, Ajay Nishad's main contestant is Raj Bhushan Chaudhary Nishad from VIP. There are six assembly segments here- Muzaffarpur urban, Kudhni, Sakra, Bochhan, Gayaghat and Orai. This district was in headlines recently for the infamous Muzaffarpur shelter home case.
