Aromatherapy is a natural approach to easing joint pain. In our work, we use essential oils - aromatic extracts from plants, to create blends that provide relief from knee pain and inflammation.

I have selected 5 essential oils for this blend. Together these oils help to reduce pain and inflammation and they support deep sleep because of their calming effect on the mind.

Let’s have a look at the essential oils in more depth:
Roman Chamomile - This essential oil calms inflammation and helps muscles and joints gently release tension and pain. It is a very emotionally soothing oil with a sweet floral, fruity aroma that makes it popular in bedtime blends.

Lavender - One of the most well-known essential oils for emotional relaxation and physical pain relief! Lavender soothes inflammation in muscles and joints and supports the body's natural healing processes.

Sweet Orange - Sweet Orange has a warm, familiar, fruity aroma. This oil's fantastic ability to calm inflammation surprises some, but it's one of my favorite essential oils for knee pain! It's also used for decreasing swelling.

Palmarosa - A floral, slightly herbal oil distilled from grass. Palmarosa reduces inflammation and cares for the skin. It's often used in blends to relieve pain, calm anxiety, and cool heat from a warm, injured area.

Ylang Ylang - Ylang Ylang has a heavy floral aroma that can deeply relax the nervous system. It helps calm inflammation and creates an overall sense of safety, gently coaxing the mind to release worry and the body to release tension.

đźź Nighttime Knee Pain Relief Blend with Essential Oils Recipe

Into 1 ounce (30ml) of jojoba wax add:
5 drops Roman Chamomile (Chamaemelum nobile)
5 drops Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia)
3 drops Sweet Orange (Citrus sinensis)
3 drops Palmarosa (Cymbopogon martinii motia)
2 drops Ylang Ylang (Cananga odorata)

Gently shake the bottle to blend the oils. Now take off the top and slowly inhale so that you enjoy the full aroma of this blend. It’s so beautiful!

Directions for Use:
To ease knee pain you need to rub a generous amount into your knees at night when you go to bed. If your knee pain wakes you up in the middle of the night, you can use more of this blend. You might find that using it over a period of time has better effects on you than if you apply it once.
