The essence of z score in data mining is the data transformation by the conversion of the value to a common scale where an average number equals zero and a standard deviation is one. A value is normalized to ′ under the formula of the z score.
The formula for calculating a z-score is z = (x-μ)/σ, where x is the raw score, μ is the population mean, and σ is the population standard deviation.
