A Labour-run council is facing a court challenge over a "flawed" public consultation on a low-traffic neighbourhood (LTN) plan. The West Dulwich Action Group is asking the High Court to stop Lambeth council from implementing the LTN, as two-thirds of residents oppose the road closures.

Court documents highlight several "failings" in how the council sought residents' views. Despite 67.5% of respondents being "unhappy or very unhappy" with the LTN, the council is moving ahead with the plan. This goes against government guidance that such schemes shouldn't proceed with widespread opposition.

The action group argues the consultation was unfair and irrational, claiming the council dismissed their concerns as simply "anti-LTN" and inconsistently decided which businesses to consult.
