Americans celebrated Independence Day on July 4 with a parade in Washington, D.C. in a celebration of patriotism, not politics, said U.S. President Donald Trump.

The celebrations kicked off in Washington late in the morning, with a parade featuring marching bands and men and women in uniform.

The parade also attracted some protesters who say they are unhappy with the president’s military-themed events. They inflated a giant balloon depicting Trump as a baby wearing a diaper and let it float nearby the parade route.
