Kaddu Ka Dalcha \ Bottle guard curry is a tasty recipe eaten along with pulao or rice
METHOD
1. In a pan heat oil - 2 tablespoon and add
Chopped onion - 2 medium sized, saute it
2.Then add ginger , garlic and coriander paste, saute it
3.Add chopped green chilies - 2 saute, add salt
Add Red chili powder - 1 teaspoon
Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
Saute
4.Add chopped tomatoes - 2 medium sized, saute till soft
5.Soak lemon sized tamarind in water for 15 minutes and extract water
6.Add soaked split chickpeas - 150 gram and mix well
7. Then add water - 1 cup and cook till chickpea turn tender and mash it
8.Now add bottle guard - 1 full cut into small pieces
9.Add green chilies - 5
Few coriander leaves
Spice powder - 1/2 teaspoon
Cinnamon sticks - 6
Tamarind water
Mix it
Add salt
10.Add water - 2 to 3 cups and cook till bottle guard turns tender
11.For tempering we need Clarified butter
CUMIN SEEDS - 1/2 TEASPOON
DRIED RED CHILIES - 2
Kashmiri red powder - 1/2 teaspoon
Add it to the dal
11.Have kaddu ka dalcha with pulao
