To protect the Ceramic Fibre Blanket layers, we use a thick shell of insulating Perlite Render. This video takes you through the whole process, from start to finish. Learn more: https://bit.ly/2xYIZkz

The Ceramic Fibre Blanket that's insulating the oven dome is soft, and easily soaks up any water that gets to it. We take you through the process of applying a 50mm (2") thick render shell over the blanket, which not only protects it, but gives you additional insulation. The Perlite used in our render mix is treated in a solution to coat each particle so that they don't soak up water (which normal Perlite does very well, that's why it's used in hydroponics). You'll mix the Perlite with GP cement, Lime and Wash Sand to create a strong, lightweight insulating render. We recommend putting the render on in two or three layers, which makes it much easier to do.
