American beautyberry (Callicarpa americana) is a Florida native plant that produces small flowers which attract pollinators in the spring. In the summer and fall clusters of these gorgeous berries appear!

Birds love the ripe fruit but will also eat them once they’ve dried. That’s one of the ways this plant spreads to unexpected locations.

It’s fairly easy to grow beautyberry shrubs to support local wildlife and pollinators. People like to harvest them to make jelly or jam. Or you can leave them for the birds!
